Building Damaris : Sections 2 & 4 (5/7)

Take the running end from section 2 and split the lines.

Double the lines over and use them to tie a double-coin, or other decorative knot.

This will become the decorative flair in the center of the section 4 waist belt.

Dress the knot so that one of the loops is at most an inch long. The second loop should be the length of the skirt for section 5, as it will form the center post for section 5’s zipper corset.

Pull the long loop through the smaller one.

Section 2 is now complete.

Measure out the width of the belt, this will be the center post for the zipper corset.

Wrap the zipper corset as usual, until the decorative knot is reached.

Pass the zipper line below the decorative knot and around the center post. Continue behind the decorative knot unit the zipper corset is finished.

Tighten the corset as usual.

Take the running lines from section 2. These will be used to weave into section 4 to strengthen and stabilize it, as it will experience significant shifting and movement.

Double these lines over, and weave the bight through the wraps.

Note: In this wrap, I have connected sections 3 & 4 to keep the sections from separating during the evening. What particular weave one uses is irrelevant. Go wild, make it your own.

The remaining lines from section 4 will be woven into section 5 for its stability.
